James ShawRob ParkinRound 13 of the Notts & Derby Cyclo-cross League on Saturday brought out a number of British Champions and Beijing hopefuls. The conditions were, in spite of the recent torrential rain, mostly dry and fast thanks to the forestry course in Watchwood Plantation.

Senior Heanor rider Rob Parkin finished in a creditable seventh place just behind Hamish Creber – watch out for that name at this weekend’s Cyclo-cross World Championships in Italy.

Steve Palmer 16th, Chi Tang 34th, William Hall 45th, Simon Parkin 47th, Mick McDermott 73rd, Don Flint 78th and John Gott 80th.

Heanor’s youngsters were also on good form with under 10s William Gascoyne coming in second, Jessica Willett seventh and second girl, Thomas Shaw tenth place. Continuing his fantastic season long success James Shaw was first under 12 with Declan Tennyson sixth.

Keiron TennysonThe youth rider Keiron Tennyson was fourth, Alex Curtis ninth and Ana Gill 12th and fourth girl.

With just 2 races to go next round of the Notts & Derby League should be very exciting (Saturday 2nd February from 12pm in Derby’s Allestree Park).
