Boots!!        Spurs!!

Hi Clubmate or fellow(ess) bikie

This email circular is sent to tell you all about the forthcoming National Clarion Easter Meet, let you know everything that's going on and give you chance to book the weekend, the time-trial, the annual dinner or just the new 'Cyclo-Sportive'.

It's a special Easter Meet at Stamford in Lincolnshire which is run (the meet not Stamford) by the local Fenland Section...but don't be alarmed, just because it's Fenland don't assume it's flat and windy, the hills of Leicestershire and Lincolnshire are right on the doorstep of Stamford, a beautiful Georgian town:

Stamford Easter Meet - 21st to 24th of March:

Captured in time by its conservation status this once major wool town has retained much of its old world charm and prosperity. Many of the buildings are constructed from old Lincolnshire limestone, hence the town's distinguished appearance and popularity with tourists and movie directors alike.
Despite a modest population of 18,000 the town boasts 11 churches, 30 pubs, 20 restaurants and over 10 quality hotels and guest houses. Most of the pubs serve Real Ale and are conveniently within walking distance of town centre, railway and bus stations.

Go online:

and there's more, why not go to the website www.clarioncc.org and find out more, there's even a link where you can book entry into the Sportive and Clarion riders who pay the Easter Meet levy get £7.50 back from their entry fee. Note you cannot enter online in the Cyclo-Sportive.

Also on the website are full details of this years event (we are also going to the York Rally and the Mildenhall Rally), plus races, club records and loads of other stuff.

Annual conference - 22nd March 10am:

Open to members only, you as a Clarion member should really be going to conference and your section should already have nominated delegates to carry your section's voting powers to conference. Voting at conference is 1 member 1 vote (7 days prior to conference) so don't forget to renew your subs if you want to get involved.

National Clarion 10 mile Time Trial Champs - 19th April Saturday 2pm

This year the event is again run near Garstang on the L101 by the Bolton Clarion in Lancashire. Entries in the usual way through details in the CTT handbook.

We hope to see you sometime in the Spring.

Ian
