Heanor Clarion this year celebrates its 75th Birthday.

A social get together with a buffet has been arranged for Friday October 23rd, Heanor Miners Welfare 8pm.

Last week the Presentation Evening and buffet took place, which was postponed from the usual late November date.

Don Flint opened proceedings with a short message of thanks to all who helped during 2008 to make the various events run smoothly.

A brief tribute was made to John Leese, who sadly passed away during the year.

Kath Leese was invited to present the trophies.

Life memberships of the club were presented to the following who over the years have given the club much support and help, and it was felt that this award was a recognition of that support and a reflection of the friendship within the club.
